Beginner / Level-1
Term 1
Describe the learning outcomes students will have achieved by the end of the term. Consider the five (5) language modes of speaking, listening, reading, writing and viewing.
  1. Speaking: Able to recite poems/rhymes taught in the class. Self-introduction in 2 0r 3 sentences
  2. Listening: Listen and identify the Vowels in Telugu. Follows the story and can respond to simple comprehension questions in it. (listening and speaking in conjunction
  3. Reading: Pre-reading strategies such as Role playing, Using gestures
  4. Showing real objects, Pointing to pictures
  5. Rote count Numbers 1-10 in Telugu
  6. Writing: Able to write full set (16) vowels in telugu
  7. Viewing: Using printed text— to recognise the beginning Letters, of the words on charts and flash cards
Describe any thematic devices that will be used to support learning outcomes (e.g. ‘sports’ or ‘a day at school’).
  1. Learning to chant the alphabetic sequence for learning about letter names and their pronunciations
  2. play with sounds in words to build children’s sensitivity to individual sounds in words,
  3. emphasise similar sounds in lyrics in familiar songs
Describe at least four (4) types of materials or teaching aids that will be used to support students to achieve the learning outcomes (e.g. a video showing young people playing sport, a worksheet asking students to name items in a classroom).

Describe how students will be assessed to determine if they have achieved the learning outcomes. An informal oral /written assessment is conducted at the end of each term.
Term 2
Describe the learning outcomes students will have achieved by the end of the term. Consider the five (5) language modes of speaking, listening, reading, writing and viewing.
  1. Speaking: Able to recite poems/rhymes taught in the class. Show and Tell: - speak in 2 0r 3 sentences about the topics given Rote count 1-15
  2. Listening: Listen and identify the Vowels (16)/ consonants (18) in Telugu.
    Follows the story and can respond to simple comprehension questions in it. (listening and speaking in conjunction)
  3. Reading: Pre-reading strategies such as Role playing, Using gestures Showing real objects, Pointing to pictures
  4. Writing: Able to write full set (16 + 18) vowels/Consonants in telugu
  5. Viewing: Using printed text— Recognise Letters, words on charts and flash cards
  6. View and Point to the picture when the name the objects in the picture are called out.

  2. Listening: Listen and identify the all the Vowels and 28 consonants in Telugu. Follows the story and can respond to simple comprehension questions in it. (listening and speaking in conjunction
  3. Reading: Pre-reading strategies such as Role playing, Using gestures Pointing to pictures and saying the names in telugu, able to join two letters together and read the word Rote count Numbers 1-20 in Telugu Able to tell at least names of 4-5 colours
  4. Writing: Able to write full set (16) vowels in telugu and 28 consonants.
  5. Viewing: Using printed text— identify the Letters and their names from, words on charts, books and flash cards
